Avenged Sevenfold Fan Matt McQuinn Victim Of Colorado Tragedy.

As we learn more information about the victims of the July 20th shooting in Aurora, CO at a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” it has come to my attention that one of the victims, Matt McQuinn, killed while protecting his girlfriend and her brother, was a big Avenged Sevenfold fan. The band has posted the following note on their Facebook regarding the news:
The July 20 shooting in Aurora, CO has had a ripple effect around the world as well as within the A7X community. One of the victims, Matt McQuinn, was a fan of Avenged Sevenfold. He was killed trying to protect his girlfriend and her brother. We consider him, just like we consider all of you, a part of our family. Our hearts go out to everyone who knew and loved Matt, and to all of the rest of the victims of this horrible tragedy.

A CNN iReport on Matt written by MariahLeeP delves a bit deeper into his love for the band:
MariahLeeP expresses that Matt will be missed by many, but his memory will be kept alive by all that knew and loved him. When she reflects on her friendship with him, she recalls that they were always laughing. “This kid was hilarious. We shared a love of the band Avenged Sevenfold, I remember one night he called me at like one in the morning to tell me there was a special on them on TV and I was so mad when he woke me up. We ended up on the phone for an hour watching them perform and interview. He was a huge fan of Avenged Sevenfold, their song “Seize the Day” is exactly how he lived his life and exactly how he went.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Matt. Far too often are people taken from us far too early.
I really hope that the guys (the band) read this comment.
At the end of June my best friend for most of my life passed away. He was a long time fan of A7X. He has countless shirts and albums and dvds, posters, magazines..you name it he had it. Now most of his stuff has been distributed to his friends, myself included. Every day I miss him dearly. Every day I am reminded of how short life is and how easily we can lose our loved ones. The guys in Avenged are not strangers to these feelings.
I really hope that you guys read this. I have something that would completely amaze me and really help me to pay tribute to one of the greatest people I have ever met in my life.
Dylan Brown is the name of my friend. He passed on June 25th this year. He was a huge fan of you guys as well as a musical genius. He wrote a massive amount of songs and other tidbits of guitar.
My request is that you guys just make a post from the A7X facebook or something on his wall. I know he would be so stoked and absolutely amazed.

A TRUE HERO AND AVENGED SEVENFOLD FAN
Yesterday I had a true nightmare: Syn was dead in my bad dream. He died, (thank God it was only in my dream) from a really silly thing but it seems so true... I woke up really quickly and crying. Well, I'm sure that I would be in the same way if it happened with anybody else from the band and from my own family, of course. I think it means that I consider a7x as my own family and I know, for sure, that I'm not the only one that feels this way. Congratulations for being this incredible band and making my life better every day. I gotta thank you guys for only exist. Have a nice day, week, month, year, century.

I live in Colorado, and our state was shocked to hear abou this tragity when it first happened...it's horrible to see another person, especially one who loves A7X as much as we all do, pass away. He died a noble death, saving his girlfriend and her brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the rest of the victims.
